Equipped for Every Good Work
Oct 26, 2025
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
When we look at today's scripture, we are reminded of the immense value and importance of God's Word in our daily life. It is not a merely an ancient book, but a living conduit through which God informs, instructs and deepens our understanding of Him and His desires for us.
The scripture reading tells us that the Word of God is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. We must allow it not only to teach us but also to rebuke us, correct us, and train us. This can sometimes be uncomfortable, as change often is. But remember, the ultimate purpose of this is so that we may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Let it seep into your heart, guiding you in each step, decision and action. Trust in His words, allow it to correct any distortions in your attitude, thoughts or actions. Embrace the training it provides in righteousness, creating in you a readiness to undertake every good work that comes your way.
Today's Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word that guides us in every aspect of our lives. Help us to open our hearts to its teaching, to accept its reproof, to heed its correction and to embrace the training it offers. Let your Word equip us, refining us to be competent and prepared for every good work you have planned for us. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
