Counting Our Blessings
Nov 28, 2025
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
1 Chronicles 16:8 (NIV)
Our reading today beckons us to give thanks to the Lord, reminding us of His marvelous works in our lives. It's too easy, amidst life's clamor, to slide into a state of forgetfulness about God's continuous outpouring of blessings and mercy upon us. In times of hardship, we might even ask, 'What indeed has God done for me?'
Let's pause for a moment and remember those times when we've seen the hand of God move powerfully in our lives. His blessings come in countless forms: a nurturing family, supportive friends, health, love, a job, or even the joy of a sunrise. Each represents a touch of God's grace that we can easily take for granted.
Today's verse is an invitation to recognize these blessings and express gratitude to our Creator, not just for what He has given us, but also for who He is. He is a God of love, mercy, and unfailing promise. When we truly understand this, giving thanks becomes more than a polite gesture; it becomes a profound act of worship.
Today’s Prayer:
Loving Father, we thank You for Your abundant blessings on us every day. Help us to always see Your hand in our lives and to remember Your goodness. May our hearts overflow with gratitude, not only for what You have done for us, but also for who You are. We pray all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.
