For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:17 (NIV)

Today's verse reminds us of the loving intention behind God's giving of his son, Jesus Christ. His purpose was not to condemn the world, but to provide a path of salvation – a journey constructed out of pure, unimaginable love. Understanding this foundational truth helps us frame our own life and spiritual journey in the appropriate context.

How often do we inadvertently fall into the trap of condemnation - casting judgments upon ourselves and others? The intention of God's love, as revealed in our reading today, is to liberate us from this cycle of negativity. Our focus should not be on the condemnation that the world oftentimes engages in, but rather, on the all-encompassing love that Christ has for us.

Every moment is an invitation to embrace this love - to step away from judgment and condemnation and step towards grace and mercy. God’s intention was and always will be to save us, to bring us into His everlasting embrace of love. Remember, we are not called to walk in self-condemnation, but in the sureness and assurance of His love.

Today's Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, guide us as we strive to see ourselves and others through Your eyes of love, not condemnation. Enable us to grasp the depth of Your love, to realize the true purpose of Christ’s coming. Help us to extend this love and grace to those around us, reflecting your kingdom here, on Earth. We praise You for Your unending love and ask in the name of your son, Jesus Christ, to help us recall this reality when we wander towards self-condemnation. Amen.
