Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Ephesians 4:15 (NIV)

In today's verse, we are encouraged to grow. But this growth isn't just any kind of growth; it's a call to spiritual development and maturity, where we become more like Christ in 'speaking the truth in love'. In our walk with God, it isn't enough to merely know or speak the truth; we are called to deliver it in a manner that reflects Jesus's compassion, kindness, and most importantly, love.

Truth is much easier to accept when it is wrapped in love. Think about a friend who confronts you about an unhealthy habit. If they express their concern in harsh terms or a judgmental tone, you're more likely to reject what they say than if they adopt a loving approach. The same principle applies to how we convey God's truth to others. Love should be at the forefront of our hearts, for it paves the way for truth and understanding.

Remember that our journey with Christ isn't a competition to prove who knows more or who is more righteous. Instead, we are in a race against ourselves, continuously striving to embody God's love and truth better than we did yesterday. It isn't instant. It is a continuous process, a journey where we fall, rise, learn, and grow.

Today's Prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, we thank you for your words today reminding us to speak your truth lovingly. We pray for your spirit to guide us, helping us grow more like Christ every day. May we always remember to express your truth in love, bringing those around us closer to you. We ask all these in Jesus' name, Amen.
