For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10 (NIV)

The beauty of our Savior is revealed in today's scripture, which unfolds His divine purpose - a mission to seek and to save the lost. In a world that often feels fractured and confusing, Jesus emerges as our beacon of hope, our everlasting refuge.

The language used in the reading invokes a powerful image, painting Jesus as an ardent rescuer, braving treacherous storms and dangerous terrains to find us, His beloved children. He not only seeks, but also saves; His unwavering persistence culminates in the ultimate act of love and sacrifice on the cross.

We often find ourselves lost in the chaos of life, stumbling into the darkness of sin and despair. Yet, amid these shadows, we are never truly alone or abandoned. Our Savior relentlessly pursues us, arms wide open, ready to guide us back into His loving embrace.

His mission isn't restricted by boundaries or definitions. He reaches out to each one of us, regardless of our past, our failings, and our frailties. This is the essence of grace, underlining the vast expanses of God's unfathomable love for humanity.

Today's Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending Jesus, our Shepherd, who seeks and saves us when we are lost. Fill us with gratitude for this sacrificial love and guide our hearts to accept and follow His light. Teach us, Lord, to extend this grace and love to others as we live out our salvation. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
