Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 7:25 (NIV)
Many times in our journeys, we may feel alone or overwhelmed, leading us to question if anyone is even aware of our struggles. In times like this, today's scripture reading provides comfort and assurance.
We are reminded that Jesus Christ, the High Priest of a higher order than Melchizedek, stands in constant intercession for us before God the Father. This is an extraordinary promise. It tells us that not only is Jesus aware of our struggles and our pain, but He also advocates for us continually in heavenly places.
His intercession for us is not occasional, but unending. In our weariness, in our triumphs, and in the everyday mundane, He is there, praying for us. What a blessed reassurance this should be when trials seem unbearable, or when life appears excessively ordinary.
Because of His ceaseless intercession, we are equipped to proceed, knowing we have someone in the highest order rooting for us, defending us, and always making a case for us. Let us find hope in this powerful promise and continuously lean on Christ’s perpetual intercession.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for the blessing and comfort of Jesus’ unending intercession. May we always remember and be encouraged by it in our journey. As we face challenges and victories, remind us of Christ’s presence and continuous prayers for us. Lord, help us to use this assurance as strength to navigate the course of our lives faithfully. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
