The Radiance of God's Glory

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

In today's scripture, we are reminded of the majesty and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. The reading paints a vivid picture of Jesus as the exact reflection of God Himself, who sustains everything by His powerful command. With such an overwhelming description, we are provoked to acknowledge Him in His rightful position - above all.
Jesus is not merely a creation of God but the very radiance of His glory. As believers, we have the privilege to be connected with this divine radiance which influences and molds us into His likeness. Just as the moon reflects the sun's light, so too we are called to reflect Jesus in our daily lives.
Furthermore, the reading confirms that Jesus upholds the universe by His powerful word. This affirmation should provide comfort and reassurance. Amid the chaos of our lives, it is soothing to remember that Jesus, the one who calms storms and moves mountains, is firmly in control. We can rest in His power and authority, trusting that He perfectly maintains everything according to His will.

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for revealing Your glory through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us, Lord, to reflect His radiance in our everyday living. Remind us to trust in His mighty authority whenever we feel overwhelmed by the circumstances around us. Strengthen our faith, dear Lord, that we might shine brightly for You. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
