“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
The Scripture reading today carries a profound yet encouraging message about trust and faith. When we put our complete trust in God, just like the tree planted by the river, we become unshakeable no matter what season of life we're going through. Even when heat comes or drought strikes, our leaves are always green, and we do not worry.
Our relationship with God is much like this. There will be trying times, seasons of drought, and periods of scorching heat. But, when our roots are deep in the soil of God's love and trust, these circumstances will not cause us to wither. Instead, they will strengthen us, deepen our faith, and prepare us for blossoming when the season changes.
True trust in God does not mean we will not face challenges. It just ensures that we won't face them alone or unguarded. Our role is to strengthen our relationship with God, keep our trust in Him, and remain resilient knowing that He is in control, has a plan for us, and will lead us through whatever may come.
Today's Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Your word today that reminds us of the power of trusting fully in You. Please help us deepen our roots in Your love, so we can withstand the hardships of life, and flourish in every season. As we go about our day, may we carry an unwavering trust in You and a heart filled with gratitude. In Jesus' Name, we pray, Amen.
