Chosen with a Purpose
Mar 9, 2026
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
2 Timothy 1:9 (NIV)
Today's verse reminds us of the amazing truth that we have been chosen by God, even before time began. This magnificent plan was not based on our deeds or accomplishments, but sprung from His own purpose and grace. Understanding this frees us from the need to strive for acceptance, or to prove our worth through doing.
God’s purpose defines our lives far better than any career, cause or calling in this world. Our salvation and calling are gifts, not rewards - they are endless proofs of His goodness and love towards us. He saved us not because we are worthy in ourselves, but because He is rich in mercy and abounding in love.
Embracing this truth transforms our perspective. It changes our question from "What must I do?" to "What has He done?" This divine shift allows us to live in the freedom and joy of His unconditional love, rather than under the burden of performance or perfection.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing us according to Your grand design, and not because of anything we have done. Help us to remember that our worth comes from You alone. May we find peace and purpose knowing that our value isn't tied to worldly achievements but grounded in your boundless love. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
