Loving Completely
Feb 25, 2026
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)
Love, in its purest form, is a truly powerful force. It can transform relationships, communities, and even nations. This love, true and unselfish, is what our reading today encourages us to pursue diligently. The scripture reading today reminds us that loving God with all our heart, soul, and mind, should be our primary pursuit in life. It's the kind of love that doesn't hold back, but rather invests every ounce of power, intellect, and passion.
This love isn't just reserved for God; it must also overflow towards our neighbors. That's the second greatest commandment. Our reading today links the love for God and love for our neighbor as inseparable. The intensity of our love for God can't be hidden; it reflects in how we treat others around us. It flows from our relationship with God to impact everyone we encounter.
Let's remember, our neighbors aren't simply those who live next door; they're every person we come across each day. Let's not hesitate to show love because these daily interactions are opportunities to extend God's love and possibly transform lives, just as our own lives are continuously transformed by His love.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, may Your love fill our hearts, not only to overflow towards others but also to fulfill the greatest commandment - to love You with all our heart, soul, and mind. Help us to see others through Your eyes of love and approach them with kindness, patience, and understanding, reflecting Your love in our daily interactions. We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
