Embodying Love
Feb 19, 2026
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 John 4:11-12 (NIV)
In today's scripture reading, we are reminded of God's unfathomable love towards us. His generous love is not to be hoarded or kept to ourselves; rather, it compels us to extend it to others. Just as He loves us unconditionally, we ought to love one another likewise. As bearers of His divine image, expressing love to those around us is not just a call but an obligation.
Love, in the context of our reading today, is not primarily about emotions. It is about actions, about serving, listening, understanding, forgiving, and accepting. It means shining the light of Christ in the darkests corners of human despair, affirming the worth of every individual, and working to uplift the fallen and broken.
The interesting caveat within today's verse is as incredible as it is humbling. Every act of love makes God's presence more real both to us and to a world that often struggles to see Him. Our love for others can indeed make the invisible God visible, as His love is made complete in us when we choose to love as He loved us.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, guide us to embody your love in all our interactions. Help us to love as you have loved us, so that in our actions, thoughts, and words, your love may be made complete. Grant us the wisdom to understand that, through love, we can reveal your divine presence to those who need it most. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
