No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

In our scripture reading today, we are reminded that our trials are not unique to us, but they are common to mankind. The struggle against temptation is universal, shared by all who walk this earth. Yet, sometimes we feel as if our struggles are uniquely burdensome or excessively challenging. We often carry with us a sense of isolation in our trials, wondering if anyone else could possibly understand what we're going through.

But you see, the promise of God rests not in the absence of trials, but in His presence during them. He assures us that none of these trials are insurmountable. Indeed, with God, every trial comes with an escape route, a way out. God faithfully limits our trials and gives us strength to endure, ensuring that we are never tried beyond what we can bear.

Remember, when you find yourself facing difficulties, it isn't a mark of your weakness or a punishment from above, but rather an opportunity for you to lean on God's strength and faithfulness. God doesn’t pull us into deep waters to drown us, but to cleanse us.

Today’s Prayer:

Gracious Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness in times of trial. Teach us to lean on Your strength when ours fails us. Help us trust in Your promise that no trial is too big for us to handle with You by our side. In the assurance of Your love and mercy, we find our courage and our hope. Thank you, Jesus, for walking with us every step of the way. In Your loving name, we pray. Amen.
