United in Christ
Jan 12, 2026
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26-28 (NIV)
In our reading today, we are reminded of a profound truth that brings unity amidst diversity. Despite our diverse backgrounds, origins, cultures, or traditions, we are all one in Jesus Christ. The scripture dismantles the boundaries that the world often emphasizes: race, gender, and social status.
As followers of Christ, we must mirror this powerful principle in our lives. We must discard the walls of division that the world attempts to build around us. We should not discriminate against or devalue others based on their ethnicity, gender, or social status. Instead, we must see others through the eyes of God, as equal bearers of His divine image.
Through faith in Jesus Christ, we acquire a new identity - 'Children of God.' This is an identity that reaches beyond any earthly classification. It unites us with fellow believers across the globe, from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Our individual uniqueness is celebrated within this great spiritual family, without overshadowing the unity we enjoy in Christ.
At times, it may be challenging to live out these truths, especially when society amplifies differences. But let us remember, in God’s family, love reduces disparity and accentuates harmony.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for making us one in Christ regardless of our differences. Help us to see others as You see them, made in Your image. Strengthen our resolve to dismantle barriers, and to extend love and acceptance to each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. Let our lives reflect the unity that our Savior Jesus Christ stands for. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
