Sowing Seeds of Kindness
Feb 23, 2025
Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
Proverbs 14:22 (NIV)
In our reading today, we see the value of being kind in an often-dreadful world. Often, the hustle and bustle of life can make us forget this simple virtue, leaving no room for empathy or understanding. This becomes especially true when faced with those who don't treat us with kindness; it can be challenging to extend the hand of friendship when hostility is what we get in return.
However, the scripture reminds us that those who plot evil are led astray, while those who plan good find steadfast love and faithfulness. It's a reassuring affirmation of the reward that comes from sowing seeds of kindness. The beauty of following God's word is that it doesn't just benefit others—it also enriches our own lives.
Let's strive to actively seek opportunities to be kind and loving. By doing so, we're planting seeds that will blossom into something beautiful for ourselves and others. We may not always see the fruits of our labors immediately, but rest assured, they will grow in due time, showered by God's grace.
