Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.

Amos 5:14-15 (NIV)

As we reflect on today's verse, it is evident that the Lord calls us to choose good over evil in all aspects of our lives. Our everyday choices and actions are not inconsequential; they matter to God and should reflect His righteousness.

The scripture reminds us that it is not enough to shun evil; we must also actively seek good and justice, extending love and grace to others as our Heavenly Father does to us. It challenges us to stand up for what is right, even when it is unpopular or uncomfortable.

In this pursuit of goodness and justice, we might face opposition. Yet, we are reassured that our heavenly Father is with us. His favor rests on those who relentlessly pursue what is good and just, honoring His statutes, regardless of the prevailing circumstances.

The message today instills in us a sense of responsibility towards our faith. By living out these principles, we can become models of Christian morality, impacting our communities and the world around us for the better.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, guide us as we strive to seek good and avoid evil in our daily lives. May our actions reflect Your righteousness and bring glory to Your name. Equip us to stand for truth and justice, even when faced with opposition. May we be strong and remain steadfast, knowing that You are always with us. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
