Walking in Love
Jan 7, 2026
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)
We are God's children, and today's verse calls us to imitate Him. Our reading today instills a significant message about love. It is not just about feelings or declarations of affection. Love, according to this scripture, is an action. It involves walking, moving, and living out our faith in practical ways.
We're reminded that Christ loved us so much that he gave his life for us. He presented himself as a pleasing sacrifice to God on our behalf. His love serves as the ultimate example of what it means to 'walk in love.' It's sacrificial, selfless, and always considering the needs of others before our own.
By trying to imitate God, we are invited on a transforming journey that leads to a more meaningful, deeper relationship with Him. This journey changes how we see and interact with the world around us. As we continually strive to walk in love, we will become more like Christ, radiating God’s love in our every action.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to truly walk in love. Let my actions reflect Your love, and let me show the same selflessness that Jesus demonstrated on the Cross. Teach me to be a pleasing sacrifice unto you, loving others deeply and genuinely, just as you have loved me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
