“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often forget to rest. Not just physical rest, but also mental and spiritual rest. Our reading today serves as a divine invitation to that much-needed rest. Christ is calling us, weary and burdened souls, to come to Him. But what does it mean to come to Jesus?

Coming to Jesus means accepting His teachings and surrendering our lives to His authority. It is letting go of our worries and trusting in His power and wisdom, knowing that He is in control. When we do, we find rest. This is not just an ordinary rest; this is a rest that soothes our souls, a rest that brings peace amidst chaos, strength amidst weakness, and joy amidst sorrow.

Life may be hard and burdensome. You may be overwhelmed. But remember, there's a standing invitation from the Savior, longing to provide us with comfort and rest. We just need to accept it.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Father, thank you for the comforting words of our Savior, inviting us to come to Him. We lay all our burdens and concerns at Your feet. Grant us the grace to let go and trust in Your sovereignty. Refresh our souls and fill us with your peace. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
