The Gift of Wonderful Counselor

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Today's scripture reading introduces us to the magnificent prophecy about Jesus, our Savior. This intriguing promise depicts Him as a Wonderful Counselor – a leader full of wisdom and divine guidance. In a world that often leaves us bewildered and confused, such a Counselor is indeed a necessity.
Our reading today reminds us that this Counselor isn't just a wise mentor, but a divine guide leading us on the paths of righteousness. His wisdom is not derived from earthly experiences or philosophies, but emanates directly from the heart of God, it is pure, holy, and transformative.
What a relief it is to know that when we feel lost, when the circumstances of life seem overwhelmingly complex, we have a Wonderful Counselor who extends His hand, guiding us towards the truth and light. He not only understands our trials but also knows the perfect solutions. We can always turn to Him, our trusted advisor, who welcomes us with open arms, ready to lead us through every obstacle.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your Son, our Wonderful Counselor. When confusion surrounds us and answers seem far away, may we find comfort and guidance in His infinite wisdom. Help us to trust in His counsel, knowing He will lead us down the right path. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
