[Mary’s Song] And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Luke 1:46-47, 49 (NIV)

Sometimes we find ourselves in circumstances that are bewildering and we wonder, "Why is this happening to me?" Today's verse holds the key to navigating such moments. Mary, a young woman engaged to be married, found herself to be miraculously pregnant with the Messiah. Instead of questioning or complaining, Mary chose worship.

We see Mary’s response in the Magnificat, brimming with praise and gratitude despite her unusual predicament. Faced with the extraordinary, she bows in humble adoration before God, her savior. She celebrates the mightiness of God manifested in her life and His mercy extended to her.

Therein lies the secret for us. In our most confusing times, we can choose to turn our gaze from the situation itself to the One who holds our lives in His hands. Like Mary, we can celebrate God's mightiness and mercy, even when we don't understand our circumstances.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Father, help us to focus on Your might and mercy in every situation. As we face uncertainty, empower us to respond like Mary—with worship and joyful gratitude. You are our Savior, and we trust in Your plans for us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
