But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Galatians 4:4-5 (NIV)

Our reading today speaks of a divine timetable. The phrase "the fullness of time" beautifully captures the perfect, well-arranged moment in history when God sent His Son to redeem us. It shows us that God operates on a timeline far superior to ours.

Consider what had to take place for "the fullness of time" to arrive. There was preparation involved; hearts and minds to be readied, prophecies to be fulfilled, a world stage to be set. But when the time was just right, everything fell into place. God, in His boundless wisdom and masterful orchestration, sent His Son.

And why did He send His Son? We find the answer in today's verse: for our redemption and adoption. He did not just seek to save us from sin, but to adopt us as His own children. His Son paid the price to break the power of sin over us, freeing us from its bondage and allowing us to become children of God.

Today’s Prayer:

Almighty Father, thank You for Your divine timing that brought forth salvation through Your Son. Help us daily to comprehend and appreciate the depth of Your love displayed in the event of our redemption and adoption into Your family. As we navigate the times and seasons of our own lives, may we trust in Your perfect timetable, knowing that everything is under Your control. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
