Restoring Joy
Oct 20, 2025
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 51:12 (NIV)
Today's scripture reminds us of the joy that is available to us in our relationship with God.
This joy is not dependent on our circumstances, but rather, it is birthed from a real and lasting connection with the Divine. It is not based on what we possess, but who possesses us.
In times when we have strayed from the path, when we have lost touch with the source of our joy, God is ready and willing to restore us. He awaits us with open arms to renew the joy of our salvation.
God does not want us wallowing in guilt, shame, or remorse. Instead, he invites us into a life of fulfillment, love, and joy. Our reading today shows us that restoration starts with a sincere heart seeking after God. We simply need to ask, acknowledging our shortcomings, and surrendering fully to God's grace.
It’s important to remember that the joy of salvation isn’t just a one-time event. It’s a daily experience that we can tap into, every day, every moment. Living in the joy of God's salvation is living in the light of His love, mercy, and renewal each day.
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the joy that comes from knowing you. Help me always to turn to you in times of trouble, acknowledging my faults and seeking your grace. Restore the joy of your salvation in my heart, Lord. Let it be my strength and shield against the challenges of life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
