Manifesting Christ's Love
Feb 14, 2025
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35 (NIV)
Today's verse offers us a profound mandate from Jesus, to love one another as He loved us. This command, simple in words, but vast in implication, invites us into a transformative journey of living out our faith. The love of Jesus is selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional. It's something that goes beyond shallow expressions or mere pleasantries.
In a world fraught with division and strife, this scripture reading calls us to be peacemakers and bridge-builders, allowing the love of Christ to permeate our interactions with others. It's not always easy; it requires vulnerability, patience, and sometimes, forgiveness. But we press on every day, knowing that this very act of love is what identifies us as His disciples.
Our reading today is a reminder for each of us to reflect Christ’s love in all our relationships. Let us seize this day to extend kindness, forgive readily, lend a listening ear, and sympathize genuinely. In doing so, we're not merely following a command; we are becoming living testimonies of His love, making visible the transformative power contained in the gospel.
