Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13: 6-7 (NIV)

Today's verse takes us to the heart of what truly defines love. Unlike fleeting feelings and momentary passions, love, in its true form, rejoices with truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes, and endures. Embracing this divine perspective of love changes how we view our relationships and interactions with others.

The scripture reading instructs us that love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. This explicitly means that sincerity ought to be a significant pillar in love. As believers, this speaks to us that we should yearn for righteousness, honesty, and integrity in our actions, words, and thoughts.

Furthermore, our reading today reassures us that love 'bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things'. This kind of love is patient, understanding, and free from doubt or pessimism. It's a love that persists no matter the circumstance, never losing faith or hope. This, indeed, is the love that God has shown us, a love that we ought to reflect onto others.
