A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)

In life's journey, we often encounter hills and mountains. Some hills are easily conquered, others seem insurmountable. In today’s verse, we are reminded that the same Creator who formed these enormous, sometimes intimidating formations, also forms our paths in life. Would He not then have the solution to every challenge we face?

In moments when we're overwhelmed, let us remember to lift our eyes towards the hills, remembering that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Just as the hills stand firm, strong, and unshaken, so too does our God amidst our trials and tribulations.

Our reading today reminds us that true strength lies not in ourselves but in acknowledging our dependence on God. He is ready to help, quick to save, and eager to show His strength in our weakness.

Today may you find comfort in knowing that the same hands that shaped the mighty hills are holding us today. Even when the mountain seems too high to climb, remember that we are not alone. Our Helper is always ready to aid, protect, and provide for us.

Today’s Prayer:

Gracious Heavenly Father, teach us to look to You in times of trouble and to seek Your guidance always. Remind us that the same power that created the mountains can carry us over ours. Help us to lean on Your strength and not our own. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Amen.
