He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.

Colossians 1:28 (NIV)

Today’s verse inspires us to reflect on two important virtues of Christian life: wisdom and maturity. The scripture calls us to the pursuit of knowledge, teaching, and admonishing, but with spiritual discernment and maturity. The process of maturation is not an event that occurs immediately, but a journey we undertake, guided by the teachings of Christ.

Our faith walk should be marked by the development of wisdom and the growth into spiritual maturity. As Christians, this is our mission – to strive towards presenting ourselves and others perfect or fully grown in Christ. This ambition towards maturity is not only about self-improvement, but also about the effect we can have on others. When we are wise and mature in our faith, we can lead others towards the same journey too.

The word 'perfect' here does not mean without faults, but rather complete, mature, lacking in nothing. We are encouraged to take a step further in our love for God and others, and in the spiritual understanding of His will. Wisdom and maturity are keys that unlock the treasures of living a joy-filled Christian life.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the wisdom and maturity that come from knowing you. Guide us on this journey towards spiritual growth, helping us to better understand your truths and apply them in our daily lives. May we continue to become wise and mature Christians who are able to influence and enrich the lives of others positively. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
