Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,

Ephesians 2:19 (NIV)

From today's verse, we are reminded that as believers, we no longer wander like aimless nomads. We've been welcomed into the household of God, a house built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the keystone. We're not separate structures or loosely connected buildings; rather, we form a single, unified structure, growing together into a holy temple in the Lord.

Furthermore, our reading today invites us to view our relationship with one another through a different lens. Each one of us belongs to this divine household, meaning we share deep interconnectedness. In Christ, there is no stranger or outsider among us. We're all citizens of the kingdom of God, a family living together under his love and care.

Let's reflect upon this truth, and practice it in our daily lives. Regardless of background, culture, or personal history - when we see each other, let's remember we're brothers and sisters, building blocks in God's sacred house.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for making us part of Your holy household. Help us to live in unity and to treat each other with the kinship and love that reflects our familial bond in You. Strengthen us to build each other up and to work hand in hand, fostering a deeper sense of belonging and mutual respect. In Jesus' name, we ask these things, Amen.
