Getting Started with Groups in Uplift

In Uplift, Groups are a powerful way to connect and pray together with others who share a common purpose or relationship. There are two types of Groups available: Personal Groups and Open Groups.

Personal Groups are created by individual users directly within the app. These are private groups—only those whom the creator invites can see and interact with the prayers inside. They’re ideal for Small Group studies, close friends, family members, or even workplace prayer circles. You can create as many Personal Groups as you need, and invite as many people as you’d like.

Open Groups are managed by the Uplift team and designed for churches or other organizations. These groups can be found and joined by anyone, unless privacy settings are added to make them more exclusive. They provide a broader opportunity for people to engage in prayer within a larger community context.

To manage your Groups, go to the Groups Page—the second icon from the left at the bottom of the app. Here you’ll see a list of all Groups you’ve created or joined. To join an Open Group or create a new Personal Group, tap the plus icon next to the group category.

Whether it’s your church, your family, or a circle of trusted friends, Uplift Groups make prayer more personal and more powerful—one shared request at a time.
