Today's scripture reading will resonate with many of us, as it is often referred to as the 'Golden Rule'. It gives us the blueprint on how we should treat others- with kindness, respect, and love. This rule isn't just a prescription for how we should act when it comes to our friends or family alone, but it extends to all people - even those we find difficult to love.

In our current world, where there is so much division and misunderstanding, our reading today is a reminder of Jesus's revolutionary teachings on love. A call to action, a challenge and an invitation for us to love our neighbor as ourselves. It's easy to forget that everyone we encounter is a child of God and they deserve the same love and respect we hope to receive.

Yet, following the Golden Rule is about more than just treating others with kindness; it’s about embodying Christ's love in all we do. Bringing it to life in our daily actions. By loving others, we become mirrors reflecting Jesus's love back into the world.
