Learning to Pray When You’re Angry
Jan 21, 2026
Anger and prayer might seem like opposites — but they’re not. God invites us to bring all of our emotions to Him, even the ones we’d rather hide. When you’re angry, start by being honest. Tell God what you're feeling and why. Don’t clean it up — pour it out. Read through the Psalms and you’ll see David do the same. Avoid venting only horizontally (to friends or social media). God can handle your frustration better than anyone. Ask Him to help you see clearly, to uncover any deeper pain, and to give you wisdom in how to respond. You may not leave prayer instantly calm. But you will leave heard, and that’s often the first step toward peace.
