When Prayer Feels Dry

Every believer goes through seasons when prayer feels empty, repetitive, or disconnected. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed — it means you’re human.

Dry seasons in prayer are often invitations to go deeper. Rather than giving up, try changing your approach.

Start by telling God honestly how you feel. He’s not distant from your dryness — He’s in it with you. Sometimes, a simple, raw prayer like, “God, I feel stuck,” is the most honest thing you can offer.

Experiment with new rhythms. Try praying while walking, using a psalm as a guide, or writing a short note to God. Read a few verses and ask, “What does this tell me about who God is?”
