Blessing Prayer 101
Feb 26, 2026
Blessing prayer speaks God’s truth and desire over people, places, and plans. It is not flattery; it is Scripture-shaped affirmation and request. Prepare a short template: (1) Address God, (2) Name the person/place, (3) Speak Scripture, (4) Ask for fruit. For example: “Father, bless Sarah. May she be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season (Psalm 1). Grant wisdom, favor, and steadfast love.” Gather a handful of blessing verses: Numbers 6:24?26; Psalm 121; Ephesians 3:16?19; Colossians 1:9?12. Keep them on a card or in your phone. Use blessing prayer at thresholds—birthdays, new roles, school years, project launches, home dedications. Keep language warm, brief, and Christ?centered. Invite others to add one?sentence blessings. As you bless, watch for tangible ways to participate in the answer—encouraging words, practical help, faithful presence. Blessing forms both the speaker and the receiver.
