Prayer Forms Our Soul
Dec 6, 2025
Prayer is more than communication—it’s transformation. As we spend time with God, something changes. We don’t just express thoughts; we’re shaped by the One we speak to.
Spiritual formation happens in quiet moments of prayer. We become more aware of our need for grace, more attuned to God’s heart, and more aligned with His ways. Like clay in the hands of a potter, we are formed through our repeated return to Him.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “We all… are being transformed into his image… which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” Prayer is one of the places that transformation takes root.
In personal devotion, this insight encourages consistency. In ministry, it reframes the goal of prayer—not to get something, but to become someone.
As Richard Foster wrote, “To pray is to change.” The more time we spend in God’s presence, the more we carry His presence into the world.
Don’t underestimate the quiet work of daily prayer. It may not always feel dramatic, but it is deeply forming you—one moment at a time.
