Tech That Helps You Pray Wisely
Oct 23, 2025
Technology can either fracture attention or support prayer. Use it on purpose. Start with a single, concrete goal—“two three-minute prayer pauses daily.” Then choose one aid: a recurring reminder, a focus timer, or a lock-screen verse. Keep only what helps; mute what hinders. Build a minimal prayer home screen: Bible app, a simple notes app for requests, a focus-timer app, and a worship playlist. Remove social icons from the first screen to reduce reflex taps. Set “Do Not Disturb” during prayer moments. Consider app stacks: a reminder opens directly to a short liturgy or verse card; a timer links to instrumental worship. For intercession, keep a rotating list you can check off, not to measure holiness but to keep attention fresh. Review monthly: What tool helped? What distracted? Adjust. Technology should be a quiet servant to your life with God, never the boss. When in doubt, choose fewer tools and deeper presence.
