In today's verse, Jesus gives us a profound truth that comforts and guides us through life's storms. He acknowledges the inevitability of hardships in life, yet, simultaneously offers a source of tremendous peace - Him. Jesus encourages us to take heart. To take courage. But, how?

We can do this by rooting our faith deeply in Him, by immersing ourselves in His Word, by living in constant prayerful conversation with Him, and by seeking the fellowship of other believers for mutual support. When we do these things, we deepen our relationship with Christ, and our understanding of His character. We are reminded that He is sovereign, He is good, and He has overcome the world.

Taking heart does not mean that we will not feel the weight of tribulations, rather, it means that amidst the weight, we have an unshakeable foundation in Jesus. Finding peace in Him does not exempt us from trials, but it does guarantee us an unwavering companion through each trial - Jesus, the mighty Prince of Peace who has conquered the world.
