Being a Beacon of Light speaker

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:14,16 (NIV)

In today's reading, we are reminded of our purpose as Christians here on earth. We are likened to a city set on a hill, a beacon of light that is meant to shine and illuminate the surrounding darkness. As children of God, we are called to carry His light and radiate His love to the world around us.

Just like a city cannot hide its light in the dark, we as the salt and light of the earth are not meant to hide our faith or the good deeds that flow from it. Instead, we are called to let our actions be so visible and impactful that others cannot help but see and feel God's love through us.

However, our purpose isn't to draw attention to ourselves. It's important to remember that the light we shine forth does not originate from us, but from God. We are vessels carrying His divine glow. Hence, when people see our good deeds, they are actually witnessing the wonderful works of God Himself. Our light leads them back to the source - our Heavenly Father - and brings Him glory.

As we start this day, let's embrace this purpose wholeheartedly. Let our lives not only be lit but also be lights that guide others to the love of God.
