The Place of Highest Praise
Jul 8, 2025
I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.
Psalm 138:2 (NIV)
In today's scripture reading, we see a beautiful image of what our devotion should look like. We learn that God has exalted His Word above all things. It is here, in this place of elevation, where He desires us to offer our highest praise.
The word ‘exalted’ comes with connotations of high regard, extreme respect, and incredible value. This is the platform God gives to His Word and it is on this stage that He aims to meet us.
When we approach Him, acknowledging the preeminence of His Word, we create an atmosphere where His power can manifest. We also open up space for His promises to take shape in our lives. Here is where our voice becomes a living echo of His Word, resonating with reverence, awe, and honor.
Our worship should always be anchored in the truth of His Word. As we bow down towards His holy temple, let it be the Word that guides us, the Word that strengthens us, and the Word that carries our praise upwards to His throne.
