Finding Stillness in the Midst of Chaos
Jun 11, 2025
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
In the hustle and bustle of life, it is easy to lose ourselves in endless activities, worries, and anxieties. Today's verse invites us to pause, to be still. It is not merely a call for physical rest; it is an invitation to quiet our minds and hearts before God.
Being still does not imply inactivity or idleness. Instead, it means choosing to cease striving, to stop trying to control everything, and to trust that God is indeed sovereign over all things. In this stillness, we can recognize His presence, His power, and His peace. We can receive His wisdom, guidance, and love. Our strength is renewed, and our perspective recalibrated when we surrender to God's peace.
In a world that rewards constant doing and achieving, let us dare to be different. Let us choose to be still before God, to listen to His voice and be guided by His gentle whisper. It's in this stillness that we truly experience Him as our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.
