Rooted in Love

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Our reading today presents us with a paradox. How can we, finite beings, understand the infinite dimensions of Christ's love? How can we comprehend a love that surpasses knowledge? Yet, it is this very journey towards understanding that God invites us on. It is this quest to fathom His endless love that deepens our relationship with Him and fills us with His fullness.
The imagery of being rooted in love speaks volumes about the strength and stability that God's love brings. It anchors us firmly amidst life's storms and challenges. It nourishes us, allowing us to flourish spiritually. As we grow in our understanding of His love, we consequently mature in our faith.
