Living Through Christ
Apr 7, 2025
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
Our reading today reminds us of a profound truth: when we give our lives to Christ, we no longer live for ourselves, but it is Christ who lives in us. This message transforms our understanding of life and demands a radical shift in perspective. When we fully embrace this truth, it compels us to surrender our personal ambitions, desires, and plans in favor of God’s will for us, aligning our thoughts, words, and actions with His heart.
We now have a new identity in Christ, and by faith, we partake in His death and resurrection. It means our old self – with its sins, faults, and failures – has been crucified with Christ, and we are now new creations, living a life of victory over sin.
Living through Christ is not abstract or theoretical; it manifests in practical ways every day. It means yielding control to God, allowing Him to guide our decisions, and pursuing His will in everything we do. It means loving others as He did, showing grace, kindness, and compassion. Above all, it means treasuring our relationship with God above anything the world offers.
Let us remember that Christ's life in us is our sure foundation; it is our stronghold in times of difficulty and our joy in times of celebration. In every circumstance and season, may we continue to proclaim, “I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
