Redemption Through Grace
Apr 4, 2025
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
Ephesians 1:7 (NIV)
Our reading today reminds us of one of the most awe-inspiring truths that we have in Christ - our redemption. To be redeemed means to be bought back, rescued from bondage and set free. As believers, we have been purchased at a great price. Not with silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
This astounding saving act is a testament to God's abundant grace. Unmerited, not earned, and wholly given out of His profound love for us. This grace overflows towards us, immersing us, bringing forgiveness of sins and liberation from guilt and shame.
But there's more. In His bountiful grace, not only are we forgiven but this forgiveness leads us into an intimate relationship with God. We are brought into His family, united with His heart, becoming partakers of His divine nature and recipients of all His blessings.
As we go through our day, let us remember this tender gift wrapped in grace – a redemption so profound it frees us completely, allowing us to live in the fullness of God's love.
