[Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time] Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

Matthew 20: 17-19 (NIV)

As we contemplate today's scripture reading, we are reminded of the profound love that Jesus showed us. He knew what was to come - the agony, the betrayal, the cross. Yet, He moved forward with determination and purpose for our salvation.

It is this journey towards redemption that today's scriptures bring into focus. In the midst of our own suffering, turmoil or struggles, it can feel as though we are walking alone. Yet Christ’s words remind us we are not. Just as he embraced His inevitable journey to the cross, we too are called to move forward in our faith, knowing He walks alongside us, offering healing and restoration.

Let's take courage from His example. To face the trials of life isn't easy and the road is often steep and winding. But remember, we do not walk it alone. Christ is there, guiding our steps, offering us grace, and leading us towards redemption.
