Rooted in Trust
Mar 21, 2025
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
In today's verse, we find a powerful image of trust and resilience. Just as a tree planted by the waters, so are we when we establish our faith completely in the Lord. When life seems barren, when difficulties arise - these are like the scorching heat and year of drought for the tree. Yet, just like that tree, our hope and trust in the Lord can keep us strong and fruitful.
Our reading today reminds us that the Lord is our most trustworthy source of strength and nourishment. Even amid trials, uncertainties, and hardships, trusting in Him provides us the resources to stand tall, to remain green, and to continue bearing fruit. Faith rooted in God does not wither. It flourishes.
This scripture reading encourages us to continuously place our trust in the Lord, knowing that He will give us what we need to withstand life's storms. Our trust in Him does not only enrich our lives, but it also becomes a testimony of His grace and power to those around us. Remember; stay rooted in God's love, for He is our everlasting stream of life.
