Knowing and Being Known
Dec 6, 2024
I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
John 10:14-15 (NIV)
In today's verse, Jesus reveals a profound truth about our relationship with Him. He speaks of being the Good Shepherd who not only tends to His flock but also knows each sheep intimately, just as He is known by the Father.
What a comforting thought it is that we're personally known by our Creator! Not only does He know us, but He willingly laid down His life for us. This love runs deeper than any earthly understanding; it's a divine love that propels us into experiencing an intimate relationship with our Savior who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.
This scripture reading encourages us to look beyond the surface of our belief. As believers, we are called into this deep, personal connection with Jesus where we're not merely part of a herd, but individually recognized, valued, and loved. Let the magnitude of this truth sink in, let it transform how you perceive your faith journey. You are known fully, loved deeply, and cherished dearly by the Good Shepherd.
